My Long Search for a Pair of ‘3-in-1’ Walking Trousers has Finally Ended.

I have been searching for a pair of ‘3-in-1’ walking trousers (full-length, 3/4 length, and shorts) for a while to replace my old faithfuls.  The search proved to be a difficult one and I was beginning to lose hope.  That was until yesterday when I went food shopping.  Yes, that’s correct, I said food shopping.  Isn’t it amazing when you find something you’ve been looking for when you aren’t actually focusing on it?  Well, that’s what happened yesterday evening.  I was walking down one of the aisles and saw a pair of walking trousers.  What amazed me was the seemingly elusive ‘3-in-1’ pair of trousers I had been searching for for ages were right there in front of me.  I just couldn’t believe it.  I found my size and hoped they would fit.  I tried them on when I got home and, yes, they fit perfectly (woo hoo!)  At last, I have my trousers and just in the nick of time before I go on a trip.  Not only do they fit, they look good (always important) and they are the bargain price of £9.99!  I’m going to buy another pair today before they sell out.

I obviously can’t recommend them since I haven’t had the chance to try them out yet.  Nonetheless, if you are also searching for this type of clothing and live in the UK, it’s worth checking them out.  They are Crivit Outdoor Walking/Trekking Trousers and are available from Lidl.  Luckily for me, they are on sale at my local store now but according to the in-store leaflets will be available from 27 February 2011.

I’d be interested to hear from anyone who might already have a pair.  I will certainly report back when I’ve tested them out.

Walking/Trekking Trousers

Update – Jan 2012

I used them quite a bit when I was travelling last year.   They tend to crease more easily than my previous pair of trousers, which isn’t good when you travel.  Having said that, the creases drop out so it isn’t a major problem.  The material is light so when I was in the desert for the night in February last year, it was cold so I had to put a pair of leggings underneath.  They are very comfortable because of the elastic in the waistband, which I didn’t have in my previous outdoor trousers.  Overall, I think they are excellent value for money and when you have to travel light they are great because they convert from long trousers to crop trousers to shorts.
